For example, a frame from 1975 will have the numbers like 11994. For the most part the early Mongoose frames from 1975 and into early 1976 were a hand stamped 5 digit number starting from 10000. This is another of my bikes from back in 80 or so. It was the frame used to build our Quicksilver frame. We all know the brand is a Walmart and Toys R Us favorite which “real” bike riders especially MTB and BMXer frown upon….but for a good reason…those bike are not made for “real riding”!!īut on the flip side Mongoose has been making above average quality MTB, Fat and BMX bikes, it’s just a lot folks don’t know about it. This frame is apparently the first mongoose frame imported to Australia. As quiet as it’s kept, Legendary bicycle manufacturer Mongoose has actually been making good quality bikes recently.
